Description

Dr. Shorner-Johnson
Shakuhachi or a Bamboo Flute is a Japanese-Buddhist spiritual instrument that plays a significant role in Zen-Buddhism meditation, specifically those who are in the Fuke Sect. Its purpose is to produce songs that are considered meditation as well as music. Shakuhachis are typically made out of the root end of bamboo culm and have five finger holes allowing virtually any pitch to be produced.
