Pakistani Islamic Prayer Hat or Topi
Subject
Hats
Description
A Pakistani Islamic Prayer Hat or Topi is a short, rounded skullcap that is often worn by Muslim men for prayer services. Topis are worn specifically by men because they believe that their Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH) used one to keep his head covered at all times. Therefore it is commendable for Muslim men to wear a prayer hat, especially during the five daily prayers. Muslims wear can wear prayer hats in different ways due to their geographical regions. In Arab countries, for example, men will often wrap a turban around the cap.
