Mary of Nazareth, also known as Virgin Mary is the mother of Jesus of Nazareth according to the New Testament and the Qur'an. In the Roman Catholic Church, the veneration of Mary is encouraged through prayer, poetry, and visual art. Roman Catholics believe that the worship of Mary will help lead to a better understanding of the life of Jesus.
